1936年10月1日に創立、翌37年2月21日「東京薬品日報」を発刊、1947年「化学工業日報」へ改題。黎明期から発展期、さらに国際化時代へ大きく変貌する化学工業およびその関連産業情報を70有余年にわたり報道。さらに、1960年国際化に先駈け英文週刊紙「Japan Chemical Week」を創刊。また、出版事業においても、定期刊行物（月刊誌含む）を始め各種専門書をタイムリーに発行。さらに、セミナー／展示会開催・産業視察団・マルチメディア情報等の提供など、多角的な事業を展開。

【事業内容】 |
■新聞事業
- 日刊紙「化学工業日報」：化学工業およびその関連産業のリーディングぺーパーとしての役割を担い、化学工業（産官学を含め）をベースにライフサイエンス・エレクトロニクスなどのハイテク分野、また国際化時代に対応したアジア・国際関連、さらに地球規模での環境・安全等 多様化・高度化する最新ニーズを国内外に提供。
- 英文オンライン「Japan Chemical Web」：化学工業日報の持つ豊富な情報を英語で月曜日から金曜日まで毎日配信。汎用化学品からスペシャルティケミカル、機能性高分子など化学産業を総合的に網羅するだけはなく、医薬品、エレクトロニクス、農業用化学品さらにはバイオテクノロジーなど、当社の持つ取材リソースを最大限に活用。先端技術情報、環境問題などもカバーして、化学やバイオテクノロジーなどの技術を根幹にした日本のサイエンスの現状を世界に発信。
■出版関連事業
- 定期刊行物・各種専門書関係：「化学商品」「化学工業会社録」等々の大型定期刊行物、さらに入門書から実務書・各種専門書を随時発行。

【Corporate Profile】 |
The Chemical Daily Co., Ltd. has, since its establishment in October1936, been publishing the Kagaku Kogyo Nippo (The Chemical Daily), a daily Japanese-language newspaper. In 1960, it started publishing the Japan Chemical Week, an English-language weekly. In addition, the company has to date published a few hundred books in Japanese and English covering the chemical and other related industries.
We are also making all-out efforts to gather information from overseas by sending abroad fact-finding teams consisting of industrialists and specialist correspondents. These days, in particular, we are stepping up our news coverage in China and Southeast Asia.

【Business Activities】 |
■Kagaku Kogyo Nippo (The Chemical Daily)
The Japanese-language daily newspaper is circulated in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and other countries. The news coverage has been expanded to include pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, the environment, energy and technological innovation, in addition to commodity and specialty chemicals. The paper is also expanding its coverage to include news on high-tech industries including the automotive and electronics industries. We provide our readers with a real grip on what's happening in the Japanese and Asian markets.
■Japanese Publications
We publish dozens of new technical books every year, which build on our proprietary information network embracing private businesses, academic circles and administrative organizations. Renowned for its in-depth information are, for example, the Chemical Products Handbook (info on several thousand chemical substances) and the Chemical Directory (info on approx. 5,000 companies and industrial circles). The Japan Agricultural Technology Monthly and the Chemical Business Journal have been provided for several ten years as well-known periodical technical publications.
■Others
The Event Planning Division holds seminars and symposiums on hot topics by inviting industry leaders and academics. It also arranges fact-finding teams comprised of executives and managers of chemical and related companies, which visit chemical majors, industrial groups and government departments overseas. In addition, it sends a team to every ACHEMA exhibition held in Germany.
